VR museum is an interactive virtual reality environment that represents a museum of contemporary art and its surroundings. It allows users to navigate in the virtual world, visit the exhibitions of the museum and dynamically retrieve information about the exhibits.
The implementation of the project included the design of the 3D objects and the building structures, the construction of the virtual environment in a game engine, the modeling of the characters and the design of their animation, the creation of the graphical user interfaces (GUIs), as well as the interaction design and the programming of the virtual world and the characters’ and objects’ behavior.
The project was developed in the context of my diploma thesis at the Image Video & Multimedia Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens.
